Arena Scheduling Through Skyward
Building your schedule for the 2026–2027 school year
Why Arena Scheduling?
-
You get to build your own schedule.
-
You select the teachers you want.
-
You select the class periods you want (for example, core classes at specific times).
-
As long as you do not leave holes in your schedule, have accounted for all core class graduation requirements, have met all needed prerequisites, and no changes are needed to the master schedule, the schedule you build will be the one you end up with.
IMPORTANT: Since you are the one building your own schedule, there will NOT be schedule changes in the fall once school starts. Take your schedule seriously.
How do I know what classes I need for graduation?
Step 1: Log in to Skyward
Use your student Skyward account.
Step 2: Click on “Graduation Requirements”
This page shows:
Note: Skyward marks a course as “Completed” if it is in your current schedule, even if you have not finished it yet. If you fail a term, it will change back to “In Progress.”
You can click View Courses to see which classes count toward each requirement.

What about class fees?
Beginning in 2026–27, Utah requires a Fee‑Free Path to Graduation (Utah Code § 53G‑7‑502). This means students can graduate without paying class fees.
Course listings and the course catalog indicate which classes have fees.
Fee amounts can be checked in the District Fee Schedule. Note: The posted schedule is for 2025–26; final approval for 2026–27 occurs June 1.
Where can I find class lists and descriptions?
-
Master Schedule — shows which classes are offered each period
-
Course Listings — list of available courses
-
Course Catalog — descriptions, prerequisites, and fees
Tryout / Teacher Approval Classes
These require qualification or tryouts:
Important: If you hope to make a tryout class, do not schedule a required class in that period. Use an elective you can afford to lose.
Special Circumstances
Students with IEPs
Your case manager will place the required classes in your schedule. You only need to choose classes for the remaining periods.
Charter school students taking Math 1 in 8th grade
You may be able to add Math 2 as a freshman. Only do so if you were successful in Math 1. If you cannot add the correct course, email your counselor.
Teacher Aide (TA) Requirements
-
Only 11th and 12th-graders may be TAs
